What the drivers said at Navarra!

Sébastien Loeb, Sébastien Loeb Racing – McLaren MP4-12C #9 (Pro)
“I started in pole position, just like in Slovakia but this time I did not have any trouble. I was happy to see Andreas (Zuber) behind me after the first corner. We made a great race together, we were both pushing a lot and he was very close. It was a good race, and the car was fantastic today. This morning, it was the third time that we won the qualifying race. Now it is the first time we win the Main Race. It was a great weekend for the whole team so I am really happy for them.”

Andreas Zuber, Sébastien Loeb Racing – McLaren MP4-12C #10 (Pro)
“I had a puncture but I was really lucky because I was finishing my lap and the pit window just opened. But we managed it, the team did a great pit stop and the car was fantastic. I had a lot of fun driving in both races at Navarra today.”

Frank Stippler, Belgian Audi Club Team WRT – Audi R8 LMS Ultra #13 (Pro)
“I started the race with very low tyre-pressure, which was a part of the problem that we had at the beginning of the race. Another problem, a bigger one, was missing top-end speed. For these reasons I am quite happy with the place where we finished the main race today.”

Sergei Afanasiev, HTP Gravity Charouz – Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 #2 (Pro Am)
“The team did a great job today, and Andreas did a good job too and managed to bring the car back in the pits in one piece for me. Everyone did fantastic work this weekend and I am happy. Concerning the championship, I think it is still a gamble for us because we will have 30 cars in Baku, on a new street circuit, so anything can happen there.”

Steve Doherty, Nissan GT Academy Team RJN – Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 #32 (Pro AM)
“This is definitely the best I have driven the car so far this year, as I struggled a little bit early in the season. Today was definitely a big step forward. The Nissan felt great. I probably had the start of my life when I went from 11th to 3rd place overall. I had a bit of miscommunication in the pit with my team but in the end it worked well and we got a nice result.”

Cesar Campanico, Novadriver – Audi R8 LMS Ultra #14 (Pro Am)
“We started the championship very well at Nogaro but then we had many problems in the following races. So we are very happy with this placing today and the points. We could have done better during the weekend but my teammate (Michael Ammermuller) did a great job and was quick. I must thank the team as well for some super pit stops.”

Claudio Sdanewitsch, AF Corse – Ferrari 458 Italia #50 (Gentlemen Trophy)
“For me it was the most exciting experience to take the start today because starting from this position was new for me and I was surprised to see how everyone was pushing so hard. I did my best to give back an undamaged car to my teammate, in a good position. Michele did a great job because he set the best time on the track, and I would like to thank the AF Corse team as they were brilliant all weekend.”
